Spore

I have played Spore for about three hours now and I must say I am not sure I get it. I started out as this little fish like think that swims around eating stuff and getting bigger, then mating and adding different limbs eyes and mouths in an attempt to get even bigger, faster and to mate once again. I think had I gone into this game just paying for fun I might be satisfied with adding new body parts and eventually getting to land where I can now grow legs and run around but I can help but come at it from an educational perspective. My first thought is that I am not sure a game like Spore would hold the interest of students for very long; I know I had a hard time keeping focused. I have not given up hope but I am skeptical...
